Geraldine Winkler

Associate, Legal Executive, Head of Housing

Geraldine heads the Housing Team, which has expanded recently - a result of the importance Stone King attaches to this area and the recognition of her team’s reputation in this complex field.

She represents both landlords and tenants, which gives her the experience of seeing both sides of the legal and practical issues involved.

Her work with landlords includes advice on, and the preparation of, tenancy agreements; repossessions, and the rights and obligations of landlords. She advises schools and charities, as well as individuals.

Her work with tenants includes Judicial Review, disrepair claims, defending repossession, unlawful eviction, homelessness advice and rights of occupation. Geraldine also represents defendants under the Housing Duty Solicitor Scheme at local County Courts. Much of her work for tenants is under Legal Aid.

Her previous legal experience outside housing gives her a greater understanding of the broader issues that frequently arise in cases of housing law.

Geraldine also represents clients in non-housing work, including property claims and professional negligence under Legal Aid.

She sits on the Board of Trustees for two housing-related charities.
