Legal Secretary - Trusts and Estates Team in Bath
The PostThe post is for a Legal Secretary to provide secretarial support and assistance to fee earners within the Trusts and Estates Team of our Bath office and other fee earners as and when required. The Trusts and Estates Team consists of 23 people who are located in our Bath and London offices.
There is scope to develop to either a Legal Assistant role in which you have a budget and fee earn and/or become a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. The firm offers financial assistance for the latter providing there is a business case within the Team for such a role in the future.
Your tasks
General secretarial duties to include dealing with clients in person and on the telephone; typing and processing of correspondence and documents (to include using the firm’s house style, formatting, track changes etc; faxing; filing; photo-copying; preparing precedents of documents and storing them; liaising with the accounts department on preparation and payment of bills and other accounts queries; dealing with any administrative tasks required by your immediate fee earners; maintaining your fee earners diaries; providing refreshments for client meetings as and when required helping out other secretaries and fee earners as required.
Familiarising yourself with the Office manual and the firm’s procedures.

Supervision
You will be supervised by the Head of Team.
Appraisals
A review will be carried out by HR 2 months after commencement. An appraisal will be carried out after 12 months of employment and thereafter annually. The appraisals will be carried out by your Head of Team. You will be entitled to receive a copy of your completed appraisal form, the original of which will be retained on your personnel file.
