Education Law and Practice Update for Schools

A concise, two hour workshop covering  recent developments with plenty of opportunity for discussion amongst peers.  Topics covered will include:

  • Inclusion
    • the admission of hard to place children including the operation of In Year Fair Access Protocols
    • The relationship between SEN, disability and unacceptable behaviour
  • Behaviour and Discipline
    • Behaviour policies and management, including behaviour outside school
    • Practical operation of sanctions
    • Working with parents including parent orders and education welfare issue.
  • Exclusions
    • Fixed term exclusions: good practice and pitfalls
    • Permanent exclusions, appeals and reinstatements.
