Education Law and Practice Update for Schools
A concise, two hour workshop covering recent developments in SEN, with plenty of opportunity for discussion amongst peers. Topics covered will include:

Changes in Local Authority practice away from assessment and statementing toward full delegation of SEN duties

SEN budgets, management and self-evaluation

Working with the parallel systems of LEA delegated funding and continuing parental rights to statements

How schools can best work with parents

The increased importance of adjustments for disability and the difference in practice between SEN provision and disability adjustments

Admissions and SEN, including negotiation with LEAs regarding statemented children
