Charity Property Workshop in London “Leasing Property: What Charity Landlords Need To Know”

Many charities find themselves having to deal with leasing property of different types. This workshop will look at the key issues and responsibilities of Charities as Landlords when leasing and will include an update of recent developments in charity property law (notably the Hodgson and Law Commission Reviews). It will also provide the surveyor’s perspective on leasing and comment on current letting markets. Participants are invited to “Bring the questions you have wanted to answer”.The key topics will include:-
- Charity responsibilities
- Charity property update
- Key elements of leases and the law of leasing for landlords
- The surveyor’s perspective
- Dealing with typical management issues (licence to assign/underlet; licence to alter; rent review; service charge)
- Commercial vs. other types of property regimes
Speakers: Hugh Pearce, Head of Charity Property Team at Stone King LLP, along with colleagues Hugo Greer-Walker and Tamsin Simmonds, plus Mike Greensmith partner of leading charity surveyors Stanley Hicks.
Venue: The workshop will take place at Stone King LLP, 16 St John’s Lane, London EC1M 4BS.
Timings: Registration 2.15pm, start 2.30pm and finish no later than 4.30pm.
Fee: £30 (including VAT) per delegate, refreshments will be provided throughout.
