Stone King charity partner appointed to NCVO Charity Law Advisory Group
23rd December 2011
Jonathan Burchfield, head of Stone King’s Charity team, has accepted an invitation to join the NCVO’s Charity Law Advisory Group, which has been established in order to lead an independent review of the operation of charity law.
The Advisory Group has been asked to contribute to the general debate around risk and regulation, and to make recommendations for improving the current legislative framework within which charities operate. Its overarching concern will be to ensure a legal framework that maintains high levels of public trust and confidence in charities.
The Advisory Group will be operating in parallel to the Government’s own review of the Charities Act 2006 and will also be liaising closely with the working party established by the Charity Law Association, in order to ensure that there is a proper exchange of information.
