Stone King LLP
Stone King have a continuous working history in the City of Bath for more than 225 years. In 1832 the first member of the King family joined the Partnership, which is now headed by the family’s 5th generation, our Chairman, Michael King. The business moved into its present offices at 13 Queen Square in 1832, which not long before was the home of Jane Austen. Whilst nationally known for our expertise in the Charity and Education fields, we offer a full range of services for private and business clients. Our Regional Cover and Service Standards
Our London office was established in 1990 followed by Cambridge in 2007 and Melksham in 2010.
Through this office network we mainly service the southern half of the UK below a line from the Wash to the Bristol Channel. We have 24 Partners, 65 other fee earners and about 66 staff.
As a firm we are listed in the two main legal services directories, Chambers and Legal 500, with a number of individuals as national or regional leaders in their fields.
We were awarded the Lexcel Quality Mark by the Law Society in 2005. To maintain this status we undergo a stringent annual independent assessment to certify that Lexcel practice management standards are met. The 2011 visit was completed in February.
Stone King and RCGP
Stone King were invited in 2009 by RCGP to develop a series of personal legal and financial clinics as a benefit for their members. Pilot clinics were offered in London, Croydon, Birmingham, Cambridge, Cardiff and Exeter with financial and tax sessions run in conjunction with Mazars Financial Planning Limited. Clinics were introduced to Scotland in 2010, and in 2011 are being extended to the Midlands and North of England with other regional firms.
This service is designed to meet the personal needs of three levels of RCGP members – those in the ‘first five’ years, in mid-career, and approaching retirement. Half-day Personal Financial Forums at regional centres offer a selection of topics.
Some technical training to qualify for CPD is also being developed with RCGP Faculties in care of the elderly issues jointly faced by lawyers and GPs.
Business services will assist GPs' Practice Managers, and Consortia operating independent medical services.
