Andrew Mortimer, a partner and solicitor in the firm, also practises as a Notary Public. His practice as such is entirely separate from the practice of Stone King LLP, although by kind permission of that firm his practice as a Notary is based in its offices.The main role of a Notary Public is to authenticate documents and facts for use outside England and Wales. Very often corporate and commercial clients require the services of a Notary Public to deal with the following –
- Authenticating documents for use in transactions abroad, for example, buying and selling property and other assets.
- Authenticating the execution of documents by directors and other company officers.
- The appointment of attorneys and other commercial representatives to act abroad
- The authentication and execution of documents for use in legal proceedings abroad.
- Bills of exchange issues.
- Authenticating the existence and good standing of companies.
- Certificates and other evidence required in connection with the completion of contracts or contract conditions.
His practice as a Notary Public is supervised by the Faculty Office, 1 The Sanctuary, Westminster, London SW1P 3JT.
Andrew Mortimer will attend clients at any of the offices of the firm, or visit clients at their own homes and premises, to deal with Notary matters.
