Estate Planning

By 'estate planning' we mean how a client manages and arranges his or her property and affairs in order to achieve his or her desired goals.

Those goals may include the following -

  • Ensuring enough capital is available for future needs
  • Maximising income for future needs
  • Saving inheritance tax
  • Protecting and benefiting a surviving spouse
  • Passing assets on to children
  • Supporting and benefiting grandchildren
  • Getting the right will in place

Discussions with clients about wider estate planning issues often arise in the course of discussions about wills.

Given the importance of these wider issues, we believe that it is essential that advice should be given and led by solicitors who are experienced in listening to clients, identifying their needs and aspirations, and coming up with the legal solutions required.
