When a relationship ends talking things through is never easy. Our specially trained family mediation solicitors can help you get things started and focus on what really matters. Our mediation team is here to help you reach decisions about legal, practical and emotional issues you may face as you go through a divorce or separation.

Family Meditation offers a different way forward where you are encouraged in finding your own solutions. This provides you with more control of the outcomes when your relationship breaks down and is far cheaper than fighting your battles in court.

Collaboration differs from mediation insofar as in collaboration legal advice is always available and both lawyers join you and your partner at the table in discussion. They are there to give advice throughout the process. 

Mediation normally takes place with the mediator and the couple, without lawyers present at the table. Within the mediation process you are encouraged to seek legal advice to assist you if necessary in reaching joint proposals or to record joint proposals that you have reached.

Family mediation is becoming an increasingly popular methof of conflict resolution. The Government plans to bring an end to public finding for most divorce cases, so more and more people will have to consider mediation in the future. Mediation can be publicly funded.
