How Much Will It Cost Me to Make a Claim?

It is unlikely to cost you anything to pursue a claim.

We will advise you as to the full range of funding options, at the outset. It may be that you have Legal Expenses Insurance, to cover you in respect of such a claim. This might be available, for example, through your house and contents insurance. In this situation we will approach your Legal Expenses Insurers to ask them to indemnify us to pursue the claim on your behalf.

It may also be the case that you have funding available through your membership of a Trade Union. In this situation we will approach the Union to ask them to indemnify us to pursue the claim on your behalf.

If the above are not options available to you, we may be willing to act for you on a 'no win/no fee' basis, formally known as a Conditional Fee Agreement. Under such an agreement, we agree not to charge you for the legal fees if the claim is unsuccessful. One of the many advantages of a Conditional Fee Agreement is that it removes the financial fear of claiming. Many people decide not to try to claim for compensation simply through anxiety over the potential legal costs. With a Conditional Fee Agreement, however, backed up by an insurance policy, (which we will arrange) you can pursue your claim without the worry of having to pay either your own legal costs, or your opponents legal costs, in the event that the claim is unsuccessful.

The reason why we are prepared to take on cases, despite the fact that we risk being paid nothing if we lose the case, is because if the case is successful, we are usually able to recover a success fee, which is based on a percentage of the legal costs incurred. The success fee and the insurance premium are recoverable from your opponent's insurance company at the end of your case.
