Short-term sickness absence can have a big impact on the running of an organisation. The absence has direct costs in terms of sick pay and paying for cover, and there are also less direct/tangible costs such as the effect on service provision, lost productivity, and the impact that the absence has on other employees.
It is therefore important to ensure you have a policy in place on managing sickness absence, and that those dealing with such a policy have some training to assist them with implementing it; this is what this training aims to do.
