Taking the Grief out of Grievance - Sheffield - 21.05.2019

Dealing with employees who raise a complaint about their treatment at work can be a challenge. This seminar, aimed at aimed at Business, Charity and Education leaders as well as HR professionals, will guide you through the necessary steps to handle a grievance effectively. Our team of HR Consultants will also explore some of the complexities that can develop including overlap with conduct, capability and how to approach a grievance if an employee has already resigned. The seminar will also outline the benefits of mediation as an alternative route to conflict resolution.

By the end of the session, which will combine both presentations and the application of practical case studies, delegates will leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of what a grievance is and the purpose of conducting grievance hearings
  • Familiarity with the key points from the ACAS Code of Practice
  • An understanding of how effective mediation can resolve conflict and minimise the need for formal procedure
  • Knowledge of how to hold an informal and formal grievance hearing and appeals process
