Advice for schools on the grading of pupils:

We are getting a number of queries at Stone King on how best to communicate with parents about grading and have drafted a statement for schools and academies, plus highlighted other areas to be aware of. Our guidance can be read here.

Ofqual says: “An important feature of the overall arrangements this summer is the planned additional exam series in the autumn, which will provide an opportunity for students unable to receive a calculated grade, and others who would like the opportunity to improve their grade, to take an exam.”

It has also announced details of a consultation, which runs until 8 June 2020, and can be read here

Void Contracts & Maintained Schools: The law following SFM Ltd v (1) Christ the King College (2) Isle of Wight College, Tuesday, 9 June 2020

Stone King successfully defended Christ the King College in a High Court judgement over a commercial contract worth in excess of £7 million. The judgement released the voluntary-aided maintained school from paying the rental payments and was covered by both The Times and FE News.
