Charity property law review 2024 - part one

Join Christopher D Jones, Partner and expert in both ecclesiastical and charity property law, for the first half of his charity property law review.

In it, he revisits some of the main legal developments in the sector from 2024 and looks ahead to some of the changes on the horizon in 2025.

Christopher takes a detailed look at the Charities Act 2022, which came into force in spring of this year, as well as the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024, which received royal assent before Parliament dissolved for the 2024 General Election. Biodiversity net gain (BNG) is also covered, which requires developers to ensure that, after works are completed, wildlife habitats are left in a measurably better state than they were before the development.
