Finding the right individuals to act as charity trustees can often be a difficult task, whilst at the same time finding a charity trustee role can often be daunting for individuals who are new to the sector.
This session is aimed at helping charities and potential trustees understand:
- Who is eligible to be a charity trustee, are there any particular qualifications that are needed and what is the legal process to appoint a new charity trustee?
- Where charities can advertise for potential trustee roles, and how does an individual present the right profile for the role?
- What does a charity typically look for when recruiting trustees, and how to get the best out of those that apply?
This event will be led by Stephen Ravenscroft, Head of Stone King’s Charity & Social Enterprise team, who will lead on looking at the legal issues. Stephen will be joined by Phil de Glanville from executive search agency Hanover Fox who will provide some practical tips to consider in the trustee search process and Sonya Chowdhury the Chief Executive of Action for ME who will share the benefit of her experience from the charity’s point of view in the process.
