Our Dispute Resolution Team is running a free webinar to discuss the significant judgement handed down on 7th May 2020. The Dispute Resolution Team acted for the school in the proceedings. The Commercial Court found that the school’s lease for a sixth-form building was void as a result of the lease amounting to borrowing without consent of the Secretary of State. The team will talk about the facts of the case, the significant legal points in the judgement and points of caution for maintained schools when considering entering commercial contracts.
