Charity Legacy Officers’ Lunchtime Update: Professor Robin Jacoby will be speaking on:

  • Assessing capacity – the evidential and medical issues. This will also include some recent examples of cases he has dealt and an opportunity for a question and answer session.

Professor Jacoby is a well-known and leading expert in the field of mental capacity in older people. He has over 20 years of experience in providing expert opinions in contentious probate cases, Golden rule assessments, expert opinions in related matters, such as mental capacity to donate power of attorney, consent to medical treatment, to determine place of residence and to marry etc.

He has given opinions in over 300 hundred capacity cases of which the great majority were contentious probate, and given evidence in those that were not settled out of court.
