Stone King’s Kathryn Layzell will be sharing some legal tips for carers, including what decision-making arrangements can be made for those who lack capacity. Kathryn, Head of the Trusts and Estates Team, will also look at how attorneys can still carry out their role during the current climate whilst adhering to social distancing.

Kathryn said: “Stone King is part of the BANES Dementia Action Alliance and we are pleased to be able to support our clients and carers with this helpful webinar.

We have both empathy and experience when it comes to dealing with issues affecting vulnerable people; this includes the preparation of lasting powers of attorney, applications to the Court of Protection and funding long-term care.

BRACE is an independent charity committed to defeating dementia through scientific research. It funds world class clinical and laboratory research into Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia to find better treatments, achieve earlier diagnosis and one day, a cure.

Dr James Selwood from BRACE will discuss the four most common types of dementia: Alzheimer’s, vascular, Lewy body and frontotemporal.

There will be some insight into how a diagnosis is made and James will explain how the different types of dementia affect patients and what we can be done to help.

The informative webinar ties in with Stone King’s ethos of understanding its clients’ needs and ensuring they are at the heart of the matter.
Its lawyers are able to help on a wide range of issues including financial matters, trusts and estates and children issues.

The webinar takes place on Wednesday, June 10 at 10am, places can be booked here.
