At a glittering ceremony at the Bath Assembly Rooms, Stone King’s Tim Rutherford was delighted to present cancer counselling charity We Hear You with a well-deserved Bath Life Award. He was surprised and thrilled to return to the stage to accept the Legal & Financial award on behalf of Stone King.
Tim Rutherford, Head of the Charity & Social Enterprise Sector Group at the national law firm, said: “It was a fantastic event and congratulations to We Hear You. As always, the judges had a very strong list of charity finalists with the unenviable task of choosing an overall winner. We Hear You is a very worthy winner indeed and we were delighted to present the charity with this award, as category sponsors.”
We Hear You (WHY) provides free therapeutic support to patients, families, friends and carers that have been affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions across B&NES, Somerset and Wiltshire. On the awards night, on 27 February 2020, WHY were announced as winners from amongst fellow charity finalists Bath Rugby Foundation, Boys in Mind / Girls Mind Too, Citizens Advice - B&NES, Developing Health & Independence, Genesis Trust, Julian House, Teen Yoga Foundation, Ubiety and We Get It.
Stone King also took home the Legal & Financial award on the night. Judges said of the firm: “A new era, which has seen growth across all four of its main sectors, and a landmark collaboration with Mowbray Woodwards. A great Bath employer.”
Steven Greenwood, Managing Partner of Stone King, added: “What an honour to be among such esteemed fellow finalists. Stone King has had a very strong year. A stand-out development for us locally was joining forces with Bath private client firm Mowbray Woodwards, almost doubling the size of this sector and strengthening our expertise. We are very grateful for this award and it is a real privilege to work alongside all the outstanding firms and individuals celebrated at these awards in this great City of Bath.”
The Bath Life Awards recognise the city’s outstanding organisations and individuals across 21 categories. A full list of 2020 winners can be found at https://www.bathlifeawards.co.uk/2020-winners/
