The announcement by the Government today that all schools must become academies will make many schools question how to make that change within the deadline set and against the backdrop of a collapse in their support from Local Authorities as the latter's role is reduced further by Government. Most schools will need to move to local multi academy trusts (MATs), and the key to the future health of our education system will be to get the governance and culture of those trusts right for schools from the start.

How we can help you if you have to take the steps to convert to academy status

We can take you through the step by step process to ensure a successful conversion and life as a MAT. We did the first academy conversion in the early 2000s and have been working closely with our clients helping them through the process ever since.

We have the deep sector knowledge of the education sector and the capacity to deliver that knowledge when required.

We understand not only the legal issues but also the range of options available to schools looking to convert and the approach that will best suit their particular circumstances, whether as groups of community/foundation schools, faith schools or a mixture of the two. We also understand the issues for existing academies which wish to establish or participate in multi academy trusts.

We at Stone King look forward to using our long experience of MAT governance to help make this happen.
