Free mediation information sessions offered during January’s Family Mediation Week

Stone King’s Family and Mediation Team will be offering free information sessions to people considering divorce as part of Family Mediation Week.

The awareness week, which runs from 20 to 24 January 2020, is organised by the Family Mediators Association (FMA), which seeks to help separating couples to take control of their situation and make decisions together, as well as ensuring that the views of children are heard. Rebecca Eels, Senior Associate in the Family and Mediation Team, was recently appointed to join the board of the FMA.

Tracey Smith, head of Stone King’s Family and Mediation Team, says: “Separating couples need to know that it can be possible to resolve things constructively with your partner, avoiding conflict to find the best way forward for you and the whole family. Our specialist team of mediators can help you through this process, enabling clients to co-operate with each other to negotiate and find ways forward, thereby lessening conflict at an emotionally draining time.

We are offering free information sessions during Family Mediation Week that we hope will provide some clarity to aid people’s decision making at what can be a very difficult time.

The work of the Family and Mediation Team has again been recognised by the latest edition of respected legal rankings Chambers which says: “Highly respected for its representation of clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, such as arbitration, mediation and collaborative law. Regularly acts on private finance and children matters, and also has strength acting for clients on public children law cases.

All free mediation information appointments must be booked in advance with Stone King and will take place at 3 or 13 Queen Square in Bath. To book your free half an hour information session please call 01225 337599 or contact our Events Team.
