Stone King has launched a new training workshop designed to support education leaders and decision-makers in navigating complex family issues that arise within school communities.
As a leading law firm in the education sector, Stone King understands the challenges schools face when dealing with matters involving separated parents and family disputes. To address these challenges, the firm’s Family & Mediation Team has developed Acting with Confidence: Managing Family Issues in Schools – a live one-hour webinar that offers clear and practical guidance tailored specifically for schools, trusts and colleges.
The training is delivered by Rebecca Eels, Stone King Partner, experienced family lawyer and accredited mediator, and covers key topics including parental responsibility, handling court orders, managing disputes, and sharing information appropriately. Through real-life examples and discussion of common school scenarios, participants gain practical strategies to help them make informed decisions and avoid potential pitfalls.
“More and more schools are being drawn into managing complex issues between separated parents,” explains Rebecca Eels. “Without clear guidance, schools can find themselves inadvertently caught in parental conflict, unsure about what information can be shared or how best to support the student. This training is designed to give schools the clarity and confidence they need to manage these situations effectively, while continuing to provide the best possible support for their pupils.”
The Acting with Confidence workshop is delivered live online and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of individual schools or trusts. It provides an invaluable opportunity for education professionals to strengthen their understanding of family law in a school context and to approach these sensitive situations with confidence.
