Stone King’s education team acted for the Interim Executive Board of Downhills Primary School, named as an interested party in a recent Judicial Review action.
A parent was challenging the decision of the Secretary of State to enter into a funding agreement with Harris Federation and in the claim was criticism of the consultation process undertaken by the IEB.
Michael Brotherton advised the IEB in the context of the proceedings and instructed Rachel Kamm (11kbw) as counsel. The application for Judicial Review was dismissed today by Justice Parker at the High Court.
Michael was praised for his ‘case handling and evident specialist knowledge in the area’. The case had attracted media attention as the parents ran a high profile campaign agitating against academy conversion.
