Stone King appointed to the National Society’s first legal panel

Stone King has been appointed to the first panel established by The National Society (Church of England and Church in Wales) for the Promotion of Education, also known as the National Society, to provide legal advice on their education activities and remit.

Stone King partner Lee Coley said,

“It is both a huge honour and responsibility to be appointed to the National Society’s legal panel to act on a range of matters that include those of great importance which have a national impact on Church of England and Church of Wales schools.”

Lee, who was recently appointed as Diocesan Registrar and Legal Secretary to the Bishop of Bristol added,

“Stone King has built a strong reputation for providing expert legal advice to Church of England dioceses and schools over the years. We are delighted to bring that experience and expertise to the panel and, through our advice, to support the National Society in its work.”

Stone King is joined by Winkworth Sherwood and Fieldfisher Waterhouse law firms to provide legal advice to the National Society which promotes and supports church schools and Christian education in line with the Church of England and Church in Wales. The panel’s legal advice covers six areas – major education legislation and actions as a result of legislative changes, operational matters, specific commissions, full briefings and updates as well as support for educational issues involving the Church in Wales.
