Stone King has staged the Annual Catholic Charity Conference in partnership with haysmacintyre to recognise charities who have gone the extra mile over the past year in pursuit of Catholic-inspired mission work.

In light of continuing Covid-19 restrictions, this year’s event took the form of a virtual awards ceremony.

Stone King partner Tim Rutherford said, “For more than 25 years, the Catholic Charity Conference has been a much-anticipated opportunity for charities to come together and for Stone King to share with them the latest legal and regulatory news and updates.

“Whilst the pandemic means we cannot gather as we usually do, this virtual celebration showcased the inspirational charities that have continued to help those in our communities who more than ever need their support, guidance and care.”

Following an open call-out for nominations, shortlisted registered charities were in the running to win £3,000 in each of three categories. The Catholic Children’s Society received the Digital Transformation award whilst Age Concern Manchester took top honours for Most Innovative Response to the Pandemic. A live poll of delegates saw Diamond Club (Holy Cross) declared winners of the People’s Choice award for Best Community Outreach Activity in recognition of their work with older people in Lewisham.

Tim, who along with haysmacintyre partner Adam Halsey, announced the award winners, congratulated all nominees and added,

“Until we can meet again safely, the virtual awards have been just a small ‘thank you’ to a range of charities, small and large, for their dedication and commitment during incredibly challenging times.”
