Senior Associate Sarah Wasaya has contributed to a new book which aims to help separating parents.

101 Questions Answered About Separating with Children contains expert advice from Sarah, a member of Stone King’s Family & Mediation Team. It also includes contributions from a number of other expert family solicitors, barristers, mediators and other professionals.

The legal landscape is covered, as is how to cope with the psychological impact of separation, what it means for children involved, and where parents can turn for further help and support.

“I was delighted to contribute to this book and think parents will find it provides some much-needed clarity at a difficult time,” said Sarah.

The book has three key themes to help parents resolve issues; improving relationship and communication skills, determining what is best for children and understanding legal processes.

The idea for 101 Questions Answered About Separating with Children came from social enterprise OnlyMums and OnlyDads.

Director of OnlyMums, Rebecca Giraud said, “101 Questions Answered aims to clearly explain family law processes, answering the most common questions that separating parents ask with a degree of authority. We are delighted to have had Stone King share their expertise in this book.”

The Rt Hon Sir Andrew McFarlane is President of the Family Division and has written the book’s foreword. He said: “Irrespective of the current pressing problem that may have caused a parent to pick this book up, any reader would be well advised to invest the time in reading it from cover to cover, thereby gaining a real ‘feel’ for the approach of family law professionals and the courts in general to these important and difficult problems.”

Sarah Wasaya specialises in all aspects of family law with particular expertise in international and complex financial matters and international cross-border children disputes.  Sarah is a member of the OnlyMums and OnlyDads Family Law Panel and she is accredited by Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers, as a Specialist Family Lawyer.
