Stone King has put pedals to the metal to raise funds for its charity of the year Mind.

Teams in our Bath, Cambridge, Leeds and London offices took part in a sponsored spinathon, taking to the saddle to compete against each other.

Their efforts have seen over £1,600 raised for the mental health charity with the offices covering an impressive 1,400 miles between them.

“It was a tough challenge but one that was very worthwhile,” said immigration lawyer Julie Moktadir, who is a Partner in the Cambridge office.

“We were determined to raise a good amount for Mind and that helped us get through the pain barrier.”

The spinathon results were all the more impressive as the team had taken part in the Cambridge Legal Walk, in aid of local advice centres, the previous day.

“We are delighted to have raised this money for Mind and exceed the target we had set ourselves,” said Managing Partner Steven Greenwood.

“Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is very important to Stone King and we are pleased that so many of our people got involved, demonstrating some very competitive streaks for a good cause.

“We are also grateful to the gyms which kindly supported this event and enabled us to raise funds for a charity which is important to so many people.”

Pure Gym provided bikes in Cambridge, Leeds and London while Spin Village in Milsom Place  provided bikes in Bath.

Mind was selected by Stone King staff who have pledged to raise money for the charity throughout the year.
