Bath law firm Stone King is delighted to sponsor the second Big Hearted Valentine’s Ball, having supported the inaugural event in 2019.  The 2020 Ball, which is taking place on 15 February at Apex Hotel in Bath, is raising money for a much-needed piece of modern medical equipment for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Bristol Heart Institute (BHI).

The Ball includes a drinks reception, three-course meal and is followed by live music by Gerri Waite, performing numbers from Celine Dion, followed by leading Queen tribute act Pure Queen, with the evening compered by comedian Tank Sherman.

Event organiser Gerald Creed said: “We were delighted at how much we raised with the 2019 ball that enabled us to buy a modern video fibre optic intubation unit, which we presented to heart surgeon Professor Raimondo Ascione and the team at BHI. We asked what equipment would help them now, and this year’s Ball is raising money for a video head camera system for the surgeons at BHI. With the momentum generated last year and kept going by our first Big Hearted Bike Day last autumn, I’m confident we can raise enough funds. It also promises to be a great night of live entertainment.

Peter Woodhouse, Head of Business Sector and Employment Team at Stone King, said: “The Ball was a great event last year and we’re proud to be sponsoring it again in 2020 to help raise funds for life-saving equipment at the Bristol Heart Institute.

Most seriously ill patients from Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas that need open heart surgery are taken to the BHI.
