Reema Mathur, Partner in Stone King’s Charity & Social Enterprise team, has been appointed to the role of vice chair of the Charity Law Association (CLA).

As the professional body for lawyers and other professional advisors to the charity sector, and for academics working in this area, the CLA plays a leading role in improving knowledge and awareness of charity law issues. It achieves this by responding to consultations on proposed changes to the law and liaising with sector bodies such as the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Reema said: “It is a privilege to be a part of this sector body and I’m delighted to be appointed as vice chair. I always enjoy working with and learning from my colleagues at other firms and at charities. Together we will use our respective knowledge and experience to exchange ideas, consider the impact of law on charities and raise issues where we believe change is needed for the benefit of the sector.

She took up her role from November 2019 and the Executive Committee meets four times a year.
