Stone King has again been recognised for its legal expertise by independent guide Legal 500.

The Bath-headquartered firm has retained its top tier rankings for the key areas of Education, Charities and not-for-profit, and Crime.

There was also recognition for a host of other teams operating across the country, including strong Tier 2 rankings for the three categories of Immigration, Employment and Public Sector.

In addition, the Legal 500 praised the work of many of the firm’s lawyers with Education Partner Graham Burns again in the guide’s Hall of Fame, alongside Julian Blake, Charity & Social Enterprise Partner, and Consultant Ann Phillips.

Leading Individual rankings were also awarded to Head of Independent Schools, Helen Tucker, Tim Rutherford, Head of Charity & Social Enterprise, and Head of Immigration Julie Moktadir.

Senior Associate Alexandra Steffensen achieved Rising Star status, as did Louise Castle, while Joanne Burton is recognised as a Next Generation Partner.

There is also further recognition for dozens of lawyers across the firm’s sectors of business, charity, education and private client law.

The top-tier Crime Team, was described by the Legal 500 as “exemplary”, saying:

“It has been praised by multiple clients for the assistance it provided in relation to court hearings during the Covid pandemic. Safeguarding is a key area for the group and other practice strengths include inquest and public inquiry work.”

Of Education the guide reported a client as saying:

“All team members are specialists in their field, able to give confident and knowledgeable responses to our queries. They have clear responses, in layman’s terms when necessary, giving us clear guidance to reduce our risk profile.”

Of Charities and not-for-profit a client told the guide:

“Stone King is charity-focused which means that all the advice takes into account issues relating to the charitable status of its clients.”
