Social Services and Care Proceedings

At Stone King, we have a dedicated specialist team who have significant experience in representing children, Children’s Guardians, parents and grandparents within care proceedings throughout the South West. Our team specialises exclusively in care work, so you can be confident that we have the expertise and time to prioritise your needs.

We recognise that this can be an extremely difficult and emotional time for those involved and look to ensure that cases are handled sensitively yet efficiently, whilst keeping the children’s best interests as the focus at all times.

We appreciate that you need a personal service, from initial meeting through to Court proceedings, and therefore recognise the importance of undertaking our own advocacy, relying on specialist Counsel only where necessary.

Legal Aid

If you are a parent of a child or you have Parental Responsibility for a child, legal advice and representation will be automatically available to you in the following circumstances:

• If you have received a ‘letter before proceedings’ inviting you to a pre-proceedings meeting with the Local Authority.
• Where Care Proceedings have been issued by the Local Authority or you have received notification in writing that proceedings are going to be issued.
