Neurodiversity and the Criminal Justice System
Neurodiversity refers to the different ways the brain processes information, such as for people with Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome and Dyspraxia.
The neurodivergent community can often be let down by professional services, and when it comes to facing the Criminal Justice System the challenges are magnified. As lawyers with many decades of experience of working with those who are neurodivergent and who may also have mental health conditions, we have made it our business to understand the way this may affect those navigating the complex criminal justice process.
