Impact of timing of general election on teachers’ pay for 2024/2025

It is very likely that no decisions will be made on teachers’ pay before the general election. The government were due to publish their response to the School Teacher’s Review Body (STRB) recommendations around now, but the pre-election period, which is about to start, will prevent most announcements from being made.

This will be a blow to schools who need to finalise their budgets for the new academic year.
