Duncan Hutcheson
Trainee Solicitor

Duncan is a Trainee Solicitor sitting in the Education Team, where he will complete his entire training contract, which will focus predominantly on commercial work for education clients.

As a trainee in the Education Team focusing on commercial work, Duncan works on a wide range of contractual work.

Prior to joining Stone King, Duncan studied Political Science at the University of Sussex, graduating with a 2:1, before going on to study his Graduate Diploma in Law graduating with commendation, and his LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors) with distinction. 

Outside work, Duncan’s interests include swimming, percussion, Asian fiction and plants. Duncan frequently raises money for various charities by participating in sponsored open water swims all over the UK.

Seconded in-house at a large national charity, conducting due diligence on a nationwide, sector first (in terms of scale), governance restructure. 

Helped represent the Civil Aviation Authority, who successfully sued Ryanair in the High Court over their failure to pay compensation for strikes that happened in 2018 - [2022] EWCA Civ 76.

Helped represent Civil Aviation Authority in the run up to the Emilio Sala Inquest.
