Senior Associate

Emily joined Stone King in 2026 from a highly regarded, boutique firm, bringing over sixteen years’ experience in advising organisations and individuals on immigration matters. Emily specialises in providing comprehensive support with applications under the family migration and sponsored worker routes, including assisting clients with obtaining Settlement and British citizenship, and compliance advice for Sponsors. Alongside her casework, Emily is an active member of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA).

Emily has built a strong career in immigration law, beginning as a Trainee Solicitor at Wesley Gryk Solicitors LLP in 2009, where she progressed to Solicitor and remained until 2017. She then joined Fragomen LLP, a leading global immigration firm, serving as an Associate and later Senior Associate from 2017 to 2022. In 2023, Emily returned to Wesley Gryk Solicitors LLP as a Senior Solicitor, continuing to apply her extensive expertise in complex immigration matters.

Emily earned her International Baccalaureate Diploma at the International School Hilversum in the Netherlands before pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Surrey. Building on this, she completed a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law and Human Rights at the same institution. Emily completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford.

Emily is a co-convenor of ILPA’s Wellbeing Working Group, which is working to cultivate a culture of open discussion and support for immigration practitioners, regarding their wellbeing and good mental health.

Emily is also an avid reader, and a supporter of Celia Cross Greyhound Trust, which rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes greyhounds and lurchers.
 

  • Supported an internationally renowned car manufacturer with reinstating their Worker sponsor licence, under which many individuals were sponsored, following the organisation losing access to the licence and missing the renewal window.
  • Provided support to an engineering firm with staffing their numerous large-scale projects based in the UK, transferring employees from their offices and worksites across the globe on an often urgent basis.
  • Supported a domestic violence charity with obtaining a Worker sponsor licence and making their first application for a sponsored worker, providing clear evidence as to why the small organisation had the need for a licence and to hire a non-settled worker.
  • Assisted a parent with a Skilled Worker visa with preparing a successful application for her child, following prior refusals, on the basis of there being serious and compelling reasons that the child be able to accompany her to the UK, as well as applications for single parents in similar scenarios where they could demonstrate sole responsibility for their children.
  • Prepared a successful application, following previous refusals, for a child born through a surrogacy arrangement overseas to join their parents in the UK, who held permission under the Skilled Worker (Health & Care) route.
  • Assisted with a complex, late application under the EU Settlement Scheme for an individual who previously held a Residence Card as the Family Member of an EU national, and was unaware that they needed to apply under the Scheme.
