Jacob Howell-Jones
Solicitor

Jacob is a public and regulatory solicitor, acting for and advising organisations in relation to their statutory functions and obligations, decision-making, policies and public law challenges, in both the litigation and advisory contexts.

He qualified as a solicitor in September 2022, and joined Stone King in July 2024.

Jacob's experience encompasses a broad range of public and regulatory areas, including:

  • advising auditors on their statutory duties and powers under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 in relation to local government finances;
  • charity commission investigations;
  • advising a public sector Ombudsman in relation to jurisdiction, casework and public law challenges to decisions;
  • codes of conduct and complaints procedure rules for professional associations;
  • judicial review; and
  • inquiries and investigations.

Jacob trained at a renowned claimant public law firm, and specialised in public, housing and court of protection work. Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Jacob was also part of a team representing around 200 of the Bereaved, Survivors and Residents Core Participants at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

Jacob studied Law with Spanish at the University of Sheffield, where he achieved an LL.B. (First Class), with a year spent in Spain studying at the University of Seville.

Jacob also holds an LL.M. (Distinction) from the London School of Economics, and Legal Practice Course (Distinction) from the University of Westminster.
