Jo joined Stone King LLP as a trainee in September 2013, and qualified into the education team in September 2015. In 2020, Jo became part of the firm’s information law team.

Professional Experience

Jo advises on a full range of information law matters including requests for information, data sharing, general data protection compliance, data breach management, direct marketing and biometrics. Jo acts for a range of organisations including schools (both state funded an independent), charities and businesses. She has undertaken data protection audits for clients.

Jo regularly speaks at seminars and conferences, and provides external training.

Academic Experience

Prior to joining Stone King, Jo completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham which included a year at the College of Charleston, South Carolina. Jo went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Bristol, gaining a distinction. Jo has a BCS foundation certificate in data protection.


Outside of work, Jo enjoys cooking, playing netball, and seeing as much of the world as possible.
