Although personally specialising mainly in education sector information issues, Kate also advises our clients in the charity sector and works with our wider team to deliver practical advice on issues for charities such as fundraising.
Kate's areas of expertise include admissions, behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, parental complaints, school reorganisation, biometrics in school, and pupil and community issues.
Education and Information Law issues often interrelate and Kate’s greatest strength is in bringing together her Education and Information Law expertise to advise schools on complex scenarios involving parental requests for information against a background which may include parental relationship issues, child protection issues and parental complaints or litigation. When dealing with an FOI request about admissions for example, she will be able to advise on any admissions law aspects as well as compliance with the request.
