Malik is an experienced criminal defence solicitor and advocate. He is a creative individual with a wealth of experience and knowledge of the English and Welsh Legal System (Criminal Justice System).

He has many years’ experience of representing clients at Police Stations, Magistrates and Youth Court and also at the Crown Court, and has been a Duty Solicitor on the Police Station, Magistrates and Youth Court Rota Schemes.

He has previously practiced in Civil, Family and Immigration Law and been a Crime Law Supervisor during his career.

He is a qualified Higher Courts Advocate (Criminal Proceedings). He also holds, since 2001 the Criminal Litigation Accreditation (CLAS) Membership. 

He offers a strong professional career combined with a demonstrable understanding of the criminal law and the Criminal Justice System.

Malik speaks fluent English, Pahari-Pothwari (Kashmiri), Punjabi and Urdu.

Malik has experience in criminal law including all aspects of criminal advice work.

This includes extensive experience in cases such as assaults, breach of court orders, conspiracy offences, complex fraud cases, drugs offences, health & safety offences, manslaughter/murder, road traffic offences, perverting the course of justice and sexual offences.

Outside of law, Malik has served as a Local Authority Governor and as Governor at Bradford College. He was appointed in 2015 as Guest Lecturer at Bradford Law School, Bradford College.

He also served 2 terms of office as a Non-Executive Director on the Bradford City (NHS) Primary Care Trust (appointed by the then Secretary of State for Health). As well as dealing with his other duties on the Trust, he was Lead Director for Mental Health, sat on the Difficult Choices Committee and on the GP Removal, Suspension and Termination of Employment Committee.

He has lectured in law as Visiting Faculty at Middlesex University, Dubai, UAE, School of Law on the LL.B (Hons), BA Law degree programmes and also on the International Foundation Course (World Literature for Social Sciences and The Law). 

He has also Guest lectured internationally in Lahore, Pakistan at several Law Faculties.

He gained International experience as an Intern with several Law Practices in Dubai, UAE whilst living there.

He has participated in delivering talks and having been interviewed about his personal journey in the law and on specific legal topics on various webinar invites/sessions involving participation by international students and professionals.

Malik has also, in the past supported charities like Kids in Need & Distress and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. 

And been involved with various other communities/organisations by contributing his time and experience to them.
 
In his spare time, he has acted on stage in England and Dubai performing in a number of plays.
