Vicky Brackett
CEO
Vicky is an experienced business leader and strategist with a proven track record at a senior level in the legal industry. Joining Stone King in January 2025, following a period of strong growth in the firm, Vicky brings with her extensive experience in law firm management, which she will use to guide Stone King to greater heights.
Vicky has been working in the legal sector since 1994, starting as a trainee solicitor and working through the ranks to reach senior leadership level. Thus, she has an excellent understanding of the workings of a firm at all levels, and how to work with clients to ensure excellent outcomes.
Vicky has an extensive background in commercial law, in particular dispute resolution and litigation. She worked as a commercial litigator at Freshfields for 10 years, and then, having built her own commercial litigation practice, she went on to lead the Commercial Dispute Resolution team at Thomas Eggar. In 2012, she was elected as Managing Partner, where she led on the acquisition of Thomas Eggar by Irwin Mitchell.
Throughout her decorated career, she has held roles such as Chief Executive of the Business Legal Services Division, and Group Chief Commercial Officer.
Her roles as both a solicitor and leader have involved: developing and delivering strategy and change; people development, retention and talent acquisition; client development, support and advocacy; and creating a diverse, inclusive, and inspirational environment in which her colleagues and clients can flourish.
Vicky holds a distinction in the Legal Practice Course from the Nottingham Law School, as well as a European Law LLB with Honours from the University of Warwick. She can speak French at an advanced level and is proficient with German, holding a Diploma in German Civil Law from Justus Liebig Universität.
Vicky enjoys spending her down time at the theatre, out for runs, or getting stuck into a good book.
Vicky founded a charity 18 years ago, PSDS, which supports children and young adults with Down syndrome. Her role as Chair involves strategic management and oversight, as well as the management of the extensive team of experts they work with.
Vicky oversaw the successful acquisition of Thomas Eggar LLP by Irwin Mitchell, where she then acted as the Chief Executive for Business Legal Services and Chief Commercial Officer successfully. She led on their ambitious five year growth and ESG strategy, and collaboratively designed and built a new operating model.
Recently, Vicky successfully led her own consultancy, Victoria Consulting. As a consultant, she advises her clients on strategies for growth and change, including successful operational model changes and how to improve revenue and profitability.
