The Schools’ SEN Support Service is aimed at supporting schools with the navigation of issues relating to the EHC (Education Health and Care) process for children with special educational needs. It is aimed at mainstream and special maintained schools and academies.
Designed to support SENCOs, inclusion leads and those with senior leadership responsibility for SEN in schools, this service will help them tackle common areas of challenge, including those relating to Local Authorities.
This discrete package will provide your school SENCOs and inclusion leads with an invitation to participate in two ‘surgeries’ to be held over the next year. These are hosted by two of our Education team lawyers with particular expertise in SEN issues. At these surgeries, on a ‘no names basis’, SENCOs and inclusion leads from schools and academies in different local authority areas can discuss and will be able seek legal clarity in relation to scenarios that they are currently finding challenging. They will also receive a twice yearly Bulletin containing key legal insights and up to date summaries of important areas of SEN law.
