Josh Burke
Senior Associate

Josh is a Senior Associate within the Employment and Regulatory team, based out of Stone King's Manchester office.

Josh joined Stone King in April 2024 after spending a number of years with a large regional firm where he specialised in employment law within Education, Charity and the Public Sector.

Josh has significant experience advising clients on the full range of sector specific day to day employment issues including but not limited to: discipline, grievance, absence management, performance management, whistleblowing, discrimination, TUPE, holiday pay and industrial relations.

Josh has also advised clients in relation to specific projects such as redundancy and restructuring, changing terms and conditions and managed exits (including those at senior/executive level).

Josh has a particular interest in litigation and has extensive experience in defending Education, Charity and Public Sector clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings. Josh is a competent advocate and has represented clients in both routine and contested Preliminary Hearings as well as multi-day Final Hearings. Josh finds that this experience adds practical value to the advice he is able to provide to clients.

Josh prides himself on his personable approach and an ability to provide practical advice to clients on complex issues.

Josh regularly delivers training to clients on employment law issues and speaks at external events.

Josh studied a BA(Hons) Modern Languages (Russian with Spanish) at the University of Manchester before completing his GDL at BPP University and LL.M Legal Practice (LPC) at the University of Law.
