Senior HR Consultant
Penny has been with Stone King since October 2018 and works across our Leeds and Manchester offices.
She offers expertise in handling complex HR casework including dealing with safeguarding allegations, disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, redundancy, performance management, capability, safer recruitment, workplace mediation, sickness absence, equality issues, national terms and conditions and employee relations.
Penny has over 20 years’ experience working with schools and multi-academy trusts, having spent 15 years working for Sheffield City Council and Capita prior to joining Stone King.
Penny has an in-depth sector knowledge and expertise including national terms and conditions for teaching and support staff. She supported the TUPE for one of the earliest academy conversions in 2005 and has advised on many more since.
Penny has supported a number of our charity clients since 2018, particularly smaller charities who require assistance with the more complex issues such as employee relations, grievances, dismissal hearings, TUPE, redundancies and restructures.
Penny spent over three years working in a very commercial environment just before joining Stone King, and is able to bring a commercial-focused approach in her advice to all our clients.
Penny has Chartered Membership of the CIPD and obtained a BSc Hons through the Open University whilst working full time. She is also an ACAS accredited Internal Workplace Mediator.
Penny is passionate about social mobility as well as developing links with the Leeds South and East Foodbank where she has co-ordinated volunteer days involving colleagues from the Leeds office.
