Rowenna has advised on a wide range of education property matters over the years. These include:

  • academy trust conversions and academy transfers;
  • acquisition and disposal of sites and the development of sites for the purpose of constructing new schools;
  • advising further education colleges in connection with land transactions;
  • school category changes and new free school sites involving the transfer of educational land and facilities;
  • PFI sites;
  • complex joint/shared use arrangements on multi-user school sites; 
  • leases, licences and easements;
  • dealing with transactions with telecommunications and utility statutory undertakers;
  • solar panels;
  • grant funding relating to school playing fields and sports facilities;
  • dealing with complex title defect and restrictive covenant issues and potential ransom strip implications;
  • advising on implications and applications relating to proposed changes of use, disposal and development matters on school land; and
  • advising on Department for Education land consent requirements.
