So far 11 organisations have pledged their support to sprucing up a stretch of the River Avon on Wednesday, September 25 from 5-6pm.

They are Buro Happold, Digiprint, Event Organisers Network (EON), Fidelius, Julian House, Knight Frank, Loake, Milsted Langdon, St John’s Foundation, Taste of Bath and The Business Exchange.

Lib Dem Councillor for Kingsmead, Sue Craig, has also signed up for the event.

Stone King’s Managing Partner Steven Greenwood said he was delighted by the response.

He said: “It is heartening to see so many businesses wanting to join our initiative to keep Bath litter free.

Commitment to the local community and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) are extremely important to us and we are delighted that

so many local businesses feel the same.

“We are grateful to everyone who is giving up an hour of their time to help benefit the city.

Chartered accountants Milsted Langdon said they were pleased to take part in the event.

Dan Kenyon, Milsted Langdon’s General Practice Manager, said: “The Bath Litter Pick is a great initiative to bring the local business community together to keep our World Heritage City free from litter. Hopefully we can encourage people to get involved and ensure Bath is a clean and safe place to live and work.”

Helping to contribute to a nicer environment was one reason why Helen Rich, Director of Taste of Bath, signed up to take part in the litter pick.

Taste of Bath are delighted to be supporting Stone King's initiative for a cleaner and better Bath, we are looking forward to getting out there and making an active difference in our community,” she said.

It’s so important for businesses to engage in their city, we champion local food, but we also want to champion a nicer and better environment for tourists and residents alike. Well done Stone King for organising such a fun and proactive event.

Franco de la Croix-Vaubois, from the Event Organisers Network, said: "EON is delighted to take part in this brilliant Stone King initiative. We live in a beautiful city (and world) and have the incredible privilege of being part of it. We should do everything we can do make it more beautiful every day. This really makes a difference and I would highly recommend as many people to join in. Thank you Stone King for organising this event
