Julie Moktadir, Julianna Barker and Emily Ball (left to right, pictured above) from Stone King’s Cambridge team battled through cold and flooding conditions to raise money for charity in the Run for Cake event on Sunday 11 February.

The fun run, which took place at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough saw runners race around the park, completing 5km, 10km or more.

Heavy rain over the weekend meant runners had to wade through ankle-deep water on part of the course but that didn’t deter the team from completing the event.

The team were raising money for cancer charity Something To Look Forward To.

Emily Ball, Apprentice Solicitor, said: “Despite the weather the event was great fun and, although we finished the race with some very damp socks and shoes, the cup of tea and slice of homemade cake at the finish line was worth it."

“We were pleased to raise money for Something To Look Forward and support their important work. We thank everyone who has donated so far, and our fundraising link is still open for all who would like to contribute.”

Set up in 2015 by Andy and Fiona Coldron, Something To Look Forward To provides welcome and bespoke support to individuals and families affected by cancer, offering gifts such as holiday cottage breaks to theatre tickets.
