On 14 September several members of Stone King’s Private Client team joined the festivities at the Heart of Bath Awards to celebrate the city’s heroes of 2017. The event was hosted by the Bath Chronicle at Bath Racecourse with BBC Somerset’s Claire Carter running the awards proceedings. Partner Charles Hayward presented Tracey Seymour with the Carer of the Year award, sponsored by Stone King, for her tireless work looking after her husband who has early onset dementia and for her work to raise awareness for the condition in the community.
The overall Heart of Bath winner, voted for by Bath Chronicle readers out of all the afternoon’s winners, was Young Person of the Year Kai Fletcher. After enduring an unstable childhood, the 18-year-old has become an integral part of the charity Southside, which supported him.
Awards also went to 999 Hero Simon Moody; Brave Heart Hero Xersha Lawes; Extra Mile Award winner John Carr; Environmental Hero Christine Boyd; Bath Community Hero Rachel Jarai; and Fundraisers of the year Laney Sandon-James and husband Mark.
