The Association of Colleges’ conference takes place on Thursday 25 January and brings together governance professionals from across the sector to hear about and discuss key issues.
Stone King’s Head of FE Tom Morrison and Governance Consultant Sarah Johnson will lead an informative session at 11.35am looking at the governance implications arising out of current legal issues in the Further Education sector.
Delegates will have the opportunity to contribute, ask questions and learn about some ideas being developed to help further support the sector’s governance professionals including on:
Impact of reclassification – what we have learned from the first year and how good governance is a key response to some challenging issues
Student governors – reflections on their role, governance issues arising from that and how we might explore this further as a sector
Governance reviews
The day-long conference will delve into pivotal governance matters, explore the revamped AoC Code of Governance, gain insights coming out of External Board Reviews, and discover strategies for effective Governor recruitment among other topics.
