2023 School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD)

The 2023 School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD) has now been published.  It comes into force on 3 November 2023, when it will replace the 2022 version of the Document.

This is statutory guidance for local authority maintained schools in England, although many academies and multi-academy trusts also comply with it.

The only change this year is as follows:

2023 pay award

In line with the recommendations in the STRB’s (School Teacher’s Review Body) 33rd Report, from 1 September 2023, a 6.5% increase will be applied to all pay and allowance ranges and advisory points, with higher increases to some parts of the Main Pay Range to achieve a minimum starting salary of £30,000.

 All pay uplifts will be back-dated to 1 September 2023.
